Rental and used equipment sales business

ORIX Rentec provides rental services that meet diverse needs by leveraging its extensive lineup of equipment, including the latest models. Based on the concept of providing the equipment customers need, when they need it, and only in the quantities required, our rental services help promote the effective use of resources and a recycling society through optimal equipment utilization.
Equipment returned upon the expiration or early termination of rental contracts is refurbished under thorough quality control, including operation checks and precision inspections, and is then provided to the next customer. These efforts make it possible to utilize equipment over the long term. In addition to direct sales of used equipment through our website to corporate and individual customers, we also hold regular auctions for second-hand sales companies.
For equipment that is difficult to resell, we entrust processing to ORIX Eco Services, a Group company that recycles or appropriately disposes of such equipment. We also provide asset purchase services for ICT equipment owned by customers, including PCs and servers.
Through these initiatives, by minimizing waste generation and promoting the circular use of resources, we contribute to the realization of a society supported by a circular economy.

Providing solutions which enable measurement and visualization of GHG emissions

At ORIX Rentec, we support client efforts for decarbonization management through a cloud-based service that enables the measurement and visualization of GHG emissions. This service allows client firms to measure and visualize GHG emissions generated by their corporate activities based on the GHG Protocol, an international standard.
In this way, we help clients reduce the workload associated with emissions measurement and information disclosure, while supporting the advancement of environmental initiatives through the monitoring and management of GHG emissions.
Through these initiatives, we support corporate decarbonization efforts and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Measurement and technical support for the renewable energy sector

As part of our measurement and technical support for the renewable energy sector, we provide rental services for various measuring instruments to support the smooth advancement of projects. For wind power generation companies and consulting firms, we provide measuring instruments that use lasers to measure wind direction and wind speed—essential data for studying the installation of wind power facilities—and peripheral equipment.
By enabling clients to utilize these instruments for the required period and purpose, we facilitate efficient data acquisition and contribute to more sophisticated decision-making in the design and operation of power generation facilities.
We also provide rentals of high-capacity power supply units for R&D in the EV and renewable energy fields, thereby supporting various tests and evaluation in high-voltage, high-power environments.
Through these and other initiatives, we support the widespread adoption and expanded use of renewable energy and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Initiatives to reduce the use of materials

We’re working to expand the range of products and areas eligible for our ECO Shipping (packaging-free delivery) service, which enables the transportation of rental equipment without the use of packaging materials. By utilizing reusable plastic containers and air cushioning materials, we seek to reduce the use of packaging materials while safeguarding equipment from damage.
In addition to reducing the use of packaging materials and minimizing environmental impact through operations ranging from shipment to collection, we promote efficient shipping and contribute to the effective use of materials.

Materials recycling initiatives

At our technology centers, we are working on the circular use of various materials used in rental operations. We promote the collection, segregation, and recycling not just of packaging materials like stretch film, air bubble wrap, and corrugated cardboard, but even workwear and work footwear. We seek to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact through the proper management and thorough reuse of materials.
In addition to ensuring the traceability of disposal destinations, we partner with recycling companies to procure materials that incorporate recycled resources, with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of resource circulation and for monitoring the status of our initiatives. Through these initiatives aimed at promoting a circular economy, we contribute to value co-creation.

Efficient technology center operations and reduced environmental impact

We are working to optimize operations and reduce environmental impact through efficient technology center operations. At the Sagamihara Technology Center, we have introduced a state-of-the-art robot storage system that has significantly reduced the storage space required and enabled faster shipping.
In addition, by utilizing AGVs (automated guided vehicles) for some of the internal transport operations within the Sagamihara Technology Center, we aim to improve operational efficiency and reduce labor requirements while also helping to advance logistics operations.
Through these initiatives, we aim to achieve both efficient resource utilization and improved operational efficiency, thereby contributing to business operations that help realize a sustainable society.
