Rental and used equipment sales business

ORIX Rentec provides rental services for high-tech equipment and has a product lineup with 40,000 types and 3.1 million units (as of March 31, 2024). Rentec services promote effective use of resources for society as a whole, by allowing our clients to procure only the necessary amount of exactly the type of equipment they need, precisely when they need it.
We do thorough quality control, such as performing the same operation checks and precision checks as for rental products, to maintain the second-hand goods we sell resulting from expiration or cancellation of rental contracts. In addition to selling these products directly to corporate and individual customers at reasonable prices through our website, we also hold regular auctions and sell to second-hand sales companies. For equipment that is difficult to resell, we outsource processing to ORIX Eco Services, a Group company that recycles or properly disposes of said equipment. We also provide asset purchase services for ICT equipment, including PCs and servers owned by customers.
We contribute to the realization of society supported by a circular economy through the rental and used equipment sales business, which helps minimize waste of this type.

3D Printer business

3D printers are being increasingly used in a variety of manufacturing settings. 3D printing shortens the development time of products and enables the creation of products that are both much lighter and stronger than traditionally manufactured products. 3D printing also enables the fabrication of a seamless product even when it is comprised of separate parts, reducing the need for assembling and welding and reducing maintenance costs of the product.
ORIX Rentec supports the product development of customers in the various advanced fields, including car manufacturing, aerospace, and medical devices, through our 3D printer rentals and services.
ORIX Rentec provides 3D printer modeling consignment services, installation support services and rental services to corporate clients. Modeling consignment services consist of creating metal or resin prototypes based on the 3D CAD data provided by the client. We also offer a subscription-based 3D printing service for model creation, where clients pay a fixed price based on the weight of the prototype. Installation support services consist of providing support to clients considering installation of 3D printers by providing them an engineer-supported experience with the modeling workflow at ORIX Rentec’s 3D printer facility Tokyo 3D Lab. By sharing manufacturing process expertise with our clients, we support the smooth introduction of new equipment. Rental service assistance is a rental service for 3D printers.
In order to provide even more affordable, quality products for our clients, we have signed a sales agent agreement with China's Xi'an Bright Laser Technologies (hereafter, BLT). BLT sells metal 3D printers qualified by France's Airbus, and the 440 units it owns can model parts up to 1,500 mm in size. We offer total support for clients seeking to implement 3D printing solutions by increasing the choices available to them.
ORIX Rentec also offers a one-stop wind tunnel experiment solutions service for design and modeling through experimentation and measurement and analysis. This service helps clients utilize 3D printing technology for wind tunnel experiment models, which are used to design and evaluation the performance of vehicles such as automobiles and rolling stock.
The free 3D-FABs simulation service allows clients to simulate 3D printer output. Clients upload their 3D CAD data and select the conditions of the project, and the AI-enabled simulation tool automatically judges whether or not 3D printing is possible, offers advice in case printing is not possible, and creates price estimates. This service allows clients to quickly reach a conclusion about the feasibility of their projects, and contributes to both the realization of customer ideas and shortening of the development timeframe.

Utilization of original packaging materials and logistics materials

In order to minimize the use of cushioning materials in the shipment of rental equipment, ORIX Rentec uses a proprietary kit called "M Cross" to secure its rental equipment. In addition, the packing boxes ORIX Rentec uses have a sturdy design and save materials, and have undergone durability tests such as JIS standard compliant drop tests to ensure they can be used multiple times.

Providing solutions which enable measurement and visualization of GHG emissions

At ORIX Rentec, we provide a cloud-based service which allows client firms to measure and visualize GHG emissions from their corporate activity based on the international standard GHG Protocol. We help clients reduce the amount of steps for emissions measurement and disclosure, and promote "green" management.

Rentals for wind power generation-related companies

In order to help promote businesses in the renewable energy space, ORIX Rentec offers an equipment rental service for wind power generation firms and consultants. Measuring equipment, which use lasers to measure the direction and speed of the wind when installing turbines, and other peripheral equipment are offered.

At the Sagamihara Technology Center, ORIX Rentec has introduced a cutting-edge robot storage system, allowing us to reduce storage space and operate in a more time efficient manner. By utilizing AGVs (automated guided vehicles) for some internal transport functions within the Technology Center, we have been able to improve operational efficiency and reduce labor.
