Large-scale Mixed-use Facility CROSS GATE KANAZAWA That Opened in Front of JR Kanazawa Station in August 2020 Awarded Ishikawa Prefecture Prize in the Local Category of Yahoo! JAPAN Search Award 2020

TOKYO, Japan - December 9, 2020 - ORIX Corporation (“ORIX”) announced that CROSS GATE KANAZAWA, a mixed-use facility operated by ORIX, has been awarded the Ishikawa Prefecture prize in the local category of Yahoo! JAPAN Search Award 2020.

Yahoo! JAPAN Search Award is a series of awards spanning a total of 71 categories, including the grand prize, selecting people, works, and products which rose most rapidly in the number of searches compared to the previous year based on the data of Yahoo! JAPAN Search, the leading search service in Japan.
The reason for the rapid rise in the number of searches for “CROSS GATE KANAZAWA” between January 1 to November 1, 2020 was that it is a large-scale mixed-use development in front of a train station, gathering attention with its 31 stores that are retail stores and restaurants originating in Kanazawa City or new to Ishikawa Prefecture and Kanazawa City. In addition, two hotels under the Hyatt brand making their first foray into the Hokuriku region also attract people’s attention.
CROSS GATE KANAZAWA opened on August 1, 2020 and drew approximately 200,000 visitors in its first month of operation. It continues to draw attention as a station-front facility patronized by locals and tourists visiting Kanazawa City.

This is an award event based on the data of Yahoo! JAPAN Search, the leading search service in Japan operated by Yahoo Japan Corporation. Ever since Yahoo! JAPAN Search Award was launched in 2014, the award has been conducted annually.

2. Overview of CROSS GATE KANAZAWA
This is a mixed-use facility developed on a plot of land with an area of 7,423.74 m² located at the Kanazawa Port Exit (West Exit) of JR Kanazawa Station, which was acquired under the open tender for Kanazawa City’s international brand hotel project in April 2016. The facility includes Hyatt Centric Kanazawa, Hyatt House Kanazawa, the condominium The Residence Kanazawa, and commercial facilities. Located in front of a station in Kanazawa, a key city in the Hokuriku region, CROSS GATE KANAZAWA provides a new place for generating prosperity and interaction. The commercial area is home to a total of 31 stores, including those making their first appearances in the Hokuriku region as well as new businesses.
