ORIX Completes Construction of Large-Scale Multi-Tenant Matsubushi Logistics Center in Saitama Prefecture

TOKYO, Japan – April 16, 2019 – ORIX Corporation ("ORIX") announced that the construction of the Matsubushi Logistics Center—a large-scale multi-tenant logistics center being developed in the town of Matsubushi, Kita-Katsushika-gun, Saitama Prefecture—has been completed. ORIX is currently taking applications for tenant contracts.

Matsubushi Logistics Center has a total floor space of 77,372 m². With a minimum block size of approximately 8,264 m², it can accommodate as many as eight tenants. Located within approximately 30 km from central Tokyo and easily accessed through the Tokyo Gaikan Expressway and National Route 16, it is in an area ideal for a logistics hub. The center is equipped with driveways and truck berths* through the middle of the building on the first and third floors. In addition to enabling tenants to comply with business continuity plans (BCP) through means such as the installation of emergency generators, environmentally-friendly LED lighting is also employed.

Furthermore, based on the concept of “promoting health while working,” at the shared area, there are a café lounge with free Wi-Fi where people can refresh such as during lunch time, an expansive outdoor terrace, and a fitness room. Those who wish can also make use of the health promotion program Medically offered by MEDCARE, Inc. Besides free rental of wristband-type wearable devices linked to a smartphone app allowing management of steps taken daily and other information, the program allows users to consult doctors and certified nutritionists online for medical and nutrition advice.

In recent years, the demand for logistics facilities is increasing against the backdrop of e-commerce market expansion and other factors. Going forward, ORIX will continue to promote new developments while searching for locations ideal for logistics facilities and to provide state-of-the-art logistics facilities to meet the needs of diverse tenant companies.

■ Overview of shared area
There is a café lounge and outdoor terrace that can be utilized by people working at the facility. Free Wi-Fi is available at the café lounge. In addition, there are TV monitor installed in the café lounge which can be used by tenant companies for receptions, meetings, and other purposes. To support the health of people working at the facility, there is also a fitness room—with fitness equipment such as treadmills and exercise bikes—as well as a shower room.

■Overview of health promotion program Medically
Medically is a health promotion program offered by MEDCARE, Inc. Data of vital signs—such as steps taken, calories used, and sleep time—can be visualized by linking wristband-type wearable devices with a smartphone app to encourage health management. In addition, the app’s chat function can be used for medical consultation with doctors and to seek nutrition advice from certified nutritionists, thereby supporting users’ health through communication with experts. It can also be used to study presenteeism, which shows the state of poorer work performance arising from health issues.
