News Release
ORIX to Acquire Construction Machinery Sales and Rental Company Taihei Trading
Sep 07, 2026
TOKYO, Japan – September 7, 2026 – ORIX Corporation (“ORIX”) announced today that it has signed a share transfer agreement with the existing shareholders of Taihei Trading Co., Ltd. (“Taihei Trading”) and its affiliated companies to acquire all shares of these companies. ORIX plans to complete the acquisition of shares by the end of October 2026, after procedures such as the submission of notifications to the relevant authorities have been completed.

Taihei Trading is a leading construction machinery trading company, established in 1968. The company and its affiliates provide an end-to-end business model covering the procurement, sale, transportation, operator-inclusive rental services, and resale of mobile cranes, hydraulic excavators, and other construction machinery. It possesses a wealth of expertise in the valuation and sale of construction machinery.
It also has an international presence with its own sales network not only in Japan but also across Asia and the Middle East, and an overseas sales ratio of approximately 40% in fiscal year 2025.
ORIX will combine its deep knowledge in financial services and asset management with Taihei Trading’s expertise in construction machinery asset valuation and sales to strengthen its financing business in the construction machinery sector. It aims to further grow in the operating lease business as well as in the asset management business by utilizing external investor funds.
ORIX will also leverage the management support expertise it has developed through its business succession*1 projects as well as its domestic and overseas sales networks to strengthen the management foundation of Taihei Trading, including its governance system and human resource recruitment and development, and support the expansion of its sales channels.
Amid ongoing urban redevelopment projects and infrastructure maintenance and renewal, construction investment in Japan*2 has remained solid and stable demand for construction machinery is expected. Also, given rising construction demand worldwide, particularly in Asia, and the strong reputation of Japanese-made construction machinery for its excellent durability, the overseas construction machinery market is expected to continue expanding in the future.
ORIX will continue to support the growth of companies and industries with high-quality technologies and services by leveraging the expertise it has built up in the ORIX Group, as part of its GROWTH focus area in the ORIX Group Growth Strategy 2035 *3.
