ORIX Life to Launch the Industry’s First^* Cancer Insurance “Canvas” with All Coverage Beginning on the First Day of Enrollment
~ Allowing individuals to prepare by freely combining their necessary insurance ~

TOKYO, Japan – August 6, 2026 – ORIX Life Insurance Corporation (“ORIX Life”) announced today that it will launch the cancer insurance “Canvas” on October 2, 2026. “Canvas” is the life insurance industry’s first cancer insurance to provide all coverage from the first day of enrollment, with no waiting period.

“Canvas” is available in two types: a treatment benefit type that offers monthly benefits in preparation for continuous treatment, such as outpatient cancer treatment; and a diagnosis benefit type that offers a lump-sum benefit when diagnosed with cancer. Furthermore, to provide coverage after a cancer diagnosis, seven types of riders can be freely combined, including insurance coverage for hospitalization due to illnesses and injuries other than cancer and for optional treatment that is not covered by public health insurance, in addition to coverage for hospitalization due to cancer. This allows flexible insurance design in accordance with the needs of each customer.

Cancer insurance in the past was usually designed with a certain waiting period after enrollment before coverage begins, and lack of coverage immediately after enrollment was an issue. ORIX Life has eliminated waiting periods for all coverage by further strengthening the accuracy of its management of underwriting and payment risks through efforts such as analyzing claim and payment data and reviewing the information applicants are required to disclose. This allows customers to have cancer coverage from the first day of enrollment.

ORIX Life will continue to develop products that meet customer needs and take on new challenges—such as providing industry-first coverage—while striving to remain an insurance company that customers continue to choose.

* This is the first cancer insurance in the life insurance industry that does not have a waiting period after enrollment for all coverage, including lump-sum benefits for cancer diagnosis (as of August 2026, according to research conducted by ORIX Life).
