ORIX Rentec Enters Business Partnership with Independent Robot SIer to Provide Support for Logistics Facilities Automation

TOKYO, Japan – February 18, 2020 – ORIX Rentec Corporation (“ORIX Rentec”) announced today that it has entered into a business partnership with Office FA.com Co., Ltd. (“Office FA.com”), a logistics independent robot SIer, in order to strengthen its support for the automation of transportation operations within logistics warehouse.

Office FA.com has automated more than 2,000 plants in Japan and overseas. It engages in the design, manufacture, and sales of automated systems for production facilities, as well as develops logistics warehouse management systems (WMS)*1, integrates them with core systems.

This business partnership will enable ORIX Rentec to provide comprehensive logistics solutions. In addition to the rental of logistics robots, the company will now be able to offer investigation and analysis services for all transportation operations processes that take place within logistics warehouses, as well as the construction of optimized transportation systems.

In recent years, the expansion of e-commerce markets has led to an increase in product volumes and types, and logistics providers are required to deliver these swiftly to its customers. However, in Japan this has coincided with labor shortages and an increase in logistics costs, leading to demand for improved productivity within logistics facilities. For this reason, there is a growing need both to construct logistics systems, and to improve the efficiency of transportation operations that are capable of catering flexibly to changes in product types and volumes *2.

Going forward, ORIX Rentec intends to continue promoting the use of robots; by supporting automation in a wide range of industrial fields, the company intends to help resolve the shortage of personnel in Japan and increase productivity.
