ORIX Eco Services to completely use electricity from renewable energy

TOKYO, Japan - December 23, 2019 - ORIX Eco Services Corporation announced that it has switched to use 100% renewable energy at its two plants and operate them as CO₂-free plants.

ORIX Eco Services operates two plants, the Funabashi Plant, an intermediate treatment facility for metal-based waste, and the Kasukabe Plant, a manual dismantling and recycling facility for OA and IT equipment. This time, by switching the total amount of electricity used at each factory to electricity derived from non-fossil certificate power supplied by ORIX Corporation, which operates an electricity retail business, the two plants operated by ORIX Eco Services will completely use electricity from renewable energy.

With the increase in environmental awareness in recent years, more and more companies are paying attention to not only their own CO₂ emissions but also CO₂ reductions in the entire supply chain from raw material procurement to disposal. By completely using electricity from renewable energy of these two factories, ORIX will contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions in the customer's entire supply chain.
