TOKYO, Japan – July 5, 2019 – ORIX Auto Corporation (“ORIX Auto”) announced today that it will open a new base at “Rental Car Station”, which is set to be established inside Osaka International Airport (ITAMI) on July 8, 2019. The Rental Car Station has been newly established inside Osaka International Airport, and will be occupied by a total of five rental car companies, including ORIX Rent-A-Car. Previously, ORIX Rent-A-Car had been shuttling customers with reservations between the airport and “ORIX Rent-A-Car Osaka Airport Site”; however, the new Rental Car Station will enable customers to rent and return vehicles from inside the airport terminal, so making travel between the airport and the city center smoother and more convenient*1.

To qualify for the campaign, customers must make reservations on the Internet, and select eligible vehicles from the “ORIX Rent-A-Car Osaka Airport Site”; for each car they rent, customers will be gifted a 1,000yen shopping voucher that can be used inside the Osaka International Airport terminal building*2.

The campaign seeks to promote ORIX Rent-A-Car to tourists and businesspeople passing through the airport, as well as to local residents; at the same time, it aims to create opportunities for them to enjoy dining or shopping inside Osaka International Airport.

Osaka International Airport is operated by Kansai Airports, in which ORIX owns a stake. The number of people using the airport, including overseas visitors to Japan, is increasing, with a four percent year-on-year rise in fiscal 2018. At present, large-scale renovations are being carried out at the airport for the first time in approximately 50 years. In April 2018, the central area and the observation area were renovated and reopened to the public. In total, approximately 30 new stores have opened in the central area, including stores that are exclusive to Osaka International Airport, as well as restaurants and retail stores unique to the Kansai area.

Going forward, ORIX Auto will continue to provide services that satisfy its customers. Visitors to the Kansai region are warmly invited to use ORIX Rent-A-Car.

*1 ORIX Rent-A-Car will continue to deal with rentals and returns at its present Osaka Airport site and will continue to shuttle customers between the airport and the rental site, until September 30, 2019. From October 1 onwards, customers will be able to rent and return vehicles from inside the airport terminal.

*2 To qualify for the campaign, customers must make reservations using either the dedicated ORIX Rent-A-Car website, or one of Rakuten Travel or Jalan.net.
