“ORIX Rent-A-Car Tomigusuku” to Open on April 25

TOKYO, Japan – April 25, 2019 – ORIX Auto Corporation (“ORIX Auto”) announced today that it will open the “ORIX Rent-A-Car Tomigusuku” on April 25, 2019. This new base will specialize in the rental of commercial vehicles for the construction, civil engineering, and logistics industries.

ORIX Rent-A-Car Tomigusuku is located in an extremely accessible location in the southern region of Okinawa Island, approximately three minutes by car from the Naha Airport Expressway’s “Nakachi Interchange.” The rental site provides vehicles for which there is high demand in Okinawa Prefecture, including dump trucks, cranes, sprinkler trucks, aerial work platform vehicles, refrigerated vehicles, and aluminum vans. For the first time in Okinawa Prefecture, it also offers two independently developed “Mobile office vehicles”, which can contribute to work style reforms.

ORIX Rent-A-Car has already established the “ORIX Rent-A-Car Uruma Ishikawa”, located in the central region of Okinawa Island that rents out commercial vehicles. Including its 13 “ORIX Rent-A-Car” on Okinawa Island that deal primarily in passenger cars, the company now offers a total of more than 750 commercial vehicles. Going forward, ORIX Rent-A-Car intends to further expand its line-up according to the needs of its customers.

In recent years, Okinawa Island has seen an increase in demand for rental vehicles. A rise in the number of tourists from both Japan and overseas has led to the establishment of new hotels, airport expansions, and the development of new roads, bridges, and other transport infrastructure.

In addition to its rental car network, which comprises approximately 1,000 rental sites that focus on passenger cars nationwide, ORIX Auto is also expanding its truck rental business. The business consists of a total of 58 rental sites, including the Okinawa region (As of March 31, 2019) —that cater to both public and private needs in the civil engineering, construction, and logistics industries.

Going forward, ORIX Auto will continue to improve its rental car business services; at the same time, it will cater to the diverse needs of its customers by using its strength as an integrated automobile service company.
