Operation of Project of Wastewater Treatment Plant for Seien Area in Hamamatsu City Starts under Concession Scheme

Operation of project of wastewater treatment plant for the Seien area in Hamamatsu City (hereinafter called the Project) started by Hamamatsu Water Symphony K.K. (HQ: Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. President: Takafumi Yamasaki, hereinafter called HWS) whose shares held by Veolia Japan K.K., Veolia Jenets K.K. (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo. President: Yumiko Noda), JFE Engineering Corporation (HQ: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. President: Hajime Oshita), ORIX Corporation (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo. President: Makoto Inoue), SUYAMA CONSTRUCTION (HQ: Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. President: Kozo Suyama), and TOKYU CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD (HQ: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. President: Tsuneo Iizuka.)

This is the first project in the area of water and sewerage in Japan operated under the concession scheme which draws people’s attention as new operational means.  Hamamatsu City and HWS work together utilizing the Public Private Partnership scheme to realize sustainable operation of the wastewater project to continue for the future. 

In the project expertise of each member company of HWS will be fully utilized to provide sustainable wastewater service to the citizens of Hamamatsu City and try to operate in a way which is rooted in the local community.

2.Contents of the implementation contract

(1) Project overview
The scope of the project is operations including O&M, repair and refurbishment for Seien Wastewater Treatment Center, Hamana Relay Pump Station and Akura Relay Pump Station

(2) Contracting Party
Hamamatsu Water Symphony K.K.

(3) Contract Execution Date
October 30, 2017

(4) Contract period
From October 30, 2017 to March 31, 2038
(With both parties agreement, the contract period can be extended until March 31, 2043.)

(5) Commencement date
April 1, 2018
