TOKYO, Japan –May 24, 2018 – ORIX Living Corporation (“ORIX Living”), announced that construction has been completed on a new wing at its “Platesia Center-Minami” senior residence located in Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, with residents scheduled to begin moving in June 1. The Platesia series operated by ORIX Living currently includes three locations nationwide with a total of 352 rooms.
The first wing of “Platesia Center-Minami”, with a total of 189 rooms, began accepting residents upon its completion in July 2015. Located in Kohoku New Town, it offers excellent access to central Tokyo and downtown Yokohama, as well as the convenience of nearby commercial and public facilities and natural surroundings rich in greenery. Rooms range in size from 40m2 to 80m2, providing apartment-style living spaces equipped with kitchens and bathrooms. Standard features also include emergency call buttons and living cycle sensors that automatically detect changes in residents’ normal lifestyle patterns, with a variety of other functions that provide safe support for everyday life. Other features include a beauty salon, an area for relaxing and a large common bath. Residents who come to require nursing care also have the option of moving to “GOOD TIME LIVING Center-Minami”, which provides an even wider range of care staff and support facilities.
In recent years, those 60 years of age and older have occupied the top spot in the amount of personal spending on travel, merchandise and other items, and the number of seniors wishing to enjoy an active lifestyle is on the rise. Still, a survey conducted by ORIX Living in 2017 revealed that approximately 80% of those 40 and older are concerned about their own future long-term care needs. Given this background, ORIX Living is offering seniors a new style of residential living through its Platesia series, one that provides easy access to always-available nursing care services and professional staff, and that allows seniors to live with peace of mind.
Looking ahead, ORIX Living will continue working to create facilities that offer residents attentive service and a better quality of life.
