ORIX Rent-A-Car to Begin Offering UnionPay Payment Services
Services to Be Launched in Hokkaido and Okinawa to Serve the Payment Needs of Hong Kong Tourists Visiting Japan

TOKYO, Japan - October 1, 2014 - ORIX Auto Corporation ("ORIX Auto"), a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation (TSE: 8591, NYSE: IX), and Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co., Ltd. ("Sumitomo Mitsui Card") today announced that the two companies will begin offering UnionPay payment services at all ORIX Rent-A-Car locations in Hokkaido and Okinawa on October 1, 2014 in time for China's extended National Day^*1 holidays. The payment services will be offered to tourists visiting Japan from places such as Hong Kong.

The number of inbound tourists visiting Japan from Hong Kong reached an all-time high of 745,881 in 2013, up 54.9% from the previous year^*2. During the first half of the current fiscal year ending March 2015, ORIX Rent-A-Car saw the number of rental car users from Hong Kong almost doubled from the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Against this backdrop, a growing percentage of Hong Kong tourists visiting Japan are using the UnionPay card in Japan. ORIX Rent-A-Car will aim to capture demand from these tourists by upgrading and enhancing its payment options according to their needs. In addition to offering various credit card services as before, ORIX Rent-A-Car will also offer UnionPay payment services. First, ORIX Rent-A-Car will begin offering UnionPay payment services at all of its 38 locations in Hokkaido and Okinawa, destinations that are particularly popular among tourists from Hong Kong, where strong car rental demand for sightseeing purposes is anticipated.

ORIX Auto and Sumitomo Mitsui Card will continue to provide services in line with customer needs, in an effort to enhance customer convenience.
