Facilities

ORIX Eco Services operates four facilities across Japan. Below is an introduction to each facility.

Funabashi Plant

The plant handles the intermediate processing of metal-based industrial waste (with various certifications acquired).
It has equipment with advanced technologies such as a PTP sheet peeler and collaborates with customers to conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) studies aimed at achieving a circular economy.
The plant is operated using electricity generated from renewable energy and clean fuels with minimal environmental impact.

Kasukabe Plant

The plant provides manual dismantling of IT equipment with a focus on information security (with various certifications acquired).
IT equipment containing rare metals is dismantled by hand, data is securely erased, and materials are processed in a fully integrated manner, enabling the recycling of separated materials.
To prevent data leaks from IT equipment, the plant has various data erasure equipment that adheres to international standards*, and provides data erasure services.
Like the Funabashi Plant, the Kasukabe Plant uses electricity generated from renewable energy and is operated with environmental considerations.

* Data storage media are shredded into a maximum edge size of 2 millimeter or less pieces (as per U.S. standards defined by the National Security Agency).

Stockyard

ORIX Eco Services operates two stockyards that consolidates assets, primarily office and IT equipment collected nationwide, and performs various related tasks (including asset and product management, manual dismantling, and data erasure).
The facility strengthens security management with security cameras and entry/exit control via IC cards.

President's message

Addressing Issues Facing Society and Customers to Contribute to Achieving a Circular Economy

Environmental challenges arising from economic activities, such as global warming, resource depletion, energy concerns, and global instability, are becoming increasingly evident. In this context, balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability has become critical. This underscores the importance of transitioning from the traditional linear economy*1, characterized by disposal, to a circular economy*2, which has gained significant momentum globally, particularly in the EU.
Established in 1998, ORIX Eco Services began by managing end-of-life assets from ORIX's core leasing business. Over the years, we have expanded our operations to manage a wide range of assets for the ORIX Group and support customers across Japan in processing various types of waste and unwanted items. Today, we operate our own processing facilities while leveraging extensive expertise in resource recycling and reuse, as well as a robust network of nationwide partner companies. This enables us to provide optimal, environmentally conscious solutions customized to address customer needs through a one-stop solution.
Looking ahead, we aim to enhance our existing services and develop innovative solutions that contribute to realizing a circular economy. By doing so, we will address critical social and environmental issues faced by both our planet and our customers.

*1 Linear economy: A social system characterized by mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal*2 Circular economy: A socioeconomic system aimed at maximizing the efficient and cyclical use of resources and the effective utilization of assets across the entire market lifecycle
