ORIX Group was one of the pioneer figures to recognize the potentiality of the alternative investment with special emphasis on commodities trading advisor (“CTA”), and thus made a strategic alliance with Commodities Corporation (“CC”) in 1989, spearheading globalization in the alternative investment circle and striving for finding and cultivating talented traders all over the world. ORIX established a joint venture company with CC in January in the following year for an investment base in Asia, and later it became a wholly owned subsidiary named “ORIX Investment Corporation (“OIC”)”, as it is now, at the acquisition of CC by Goldman Sachs in 1997.

The need for managed futures or global macro strategies, which have low correlation with traditional investment instruments such as equities and bonds, or which have the characteristics of negative correlation, has been increasing year by year. We, OIC, have accumulated experience and know-how in investment technique and in investment administration for a long time. We have also constructed strong relationship with superior CTAs and investment managers, and hence we will endeavor to enhance investment returns, strengthening risk control and legal and fiduciary compliance capabilities.
