Mitsuo Nishiumi joined ORIX in 1973 after beginning his career at The Nippon Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd. (currently merged to be NIPPONKOA Insurance Co., Ltd.) in 1972. After a number of positions in the company, he was made the Deputy Managing Director of ORIX Asia Limited. Nishiumi became the Managing Director of ORIX Asset Management & Loan Services Corporation in April 1999 and was appointed Deputy President of the company in June 2002. Nishiumi assumed his present positions as President of ORIX Asset Management & Loan Services Corporation in January 2003, and General Manager of the Special Investments Group of ORIX Corporation concurrently in February 2005. In January 2007, Nishiumi was promoted to the position of Group Executive. Nishiumi became an Executive Officer and added the Investment Banking Headquarters to his duties in January 2008. In January 2010, he was promoted to Corporate Senior Vice President and to the Head of Investment Banking Headquarters. He was also made responsible for the Securitization and Capital Markets Office and assumed the position of President of ORIX Capital Corporation.
