Yoshiyuki Yamaya joined ORIX in 1980 and held a number of posts before being put in charge of the Officer of the President in April 2001. In February 2002, he was made President of ORIX Trust and Banking Corporation and then President of ORIX Credit Corporation in May 2004. In February 2005, Yamaya became a Group Executive and was made an Executive Officer, head of the OQL Headquarters and Asset Administration Department in August 2006, which he assumed until December 2007. In January 2008, Yamaya became the Group Senior Vice President and Deputy President of ORIX Real Estate Corporation. In January 2009, Yamaya was appointed a Corporate Senior Vice President, with responsibility over the Real Estate Headquarters, and also President of ORIX Real Estate Corporation. He was appointed a Director and Corporate Executive Vice President in June 2009. He became the Chairman of ORIX Golf Management Corporation in February 2010.
