Haruyuki Urata joined ORIX in 1977. In February 2004, Urata was made the Deputy Head of the Risk Management Headquarters. In February 2005, he was made an Executive Officer and in March 2005, he became the Deputy Head of the Human Resources & Corporate Administration Headquarters. In January 2006, Urata was named the Head of the Office of the President, and in August 2006 he was promoted to Corporate Senior Vice President as well as being put in charge of the Corporate Planning Office. In December 2006, he also took responsibility for managing the Corporate Planning Office. In June 2007, Urata was appointed a Director. Urata was appointed the Deputy President and added Overseas Activities and Office of the President to his duties in January 2008. In January 2009, Urata was appointed Chief Financial Officer and became Head of the Corporate Planning and Financial Control Headquarters in June 2009. He added the Corporate Communications Department to his duties in November 2009.
