Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori, ORIX Group’s First New-Construction Inn, to Open Tuesday, August 1, 2017

TOKYO, Japan - March 30, 2017 - ORIX Real Estate Corporation ("ORIX Real Estate") announced today that on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, it will open Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori, a ryokan (Japanese-style inn) located on the shores of Lake Ashi in Hakone.

As part of its facilities operation business, ORIX Group develops and operates hotels, Japanese-style inns, aquariums, senior housing, golf courses, multi-purpose domes, theaters and other facilities. Its goal is to provide facilities that delight the customer, not only through enhanced services, but by pursuing the creation of added value that only ORIX can offer.

ORIX Real Estate launched its Japanese-style inn business in 2002 with its acquisition of the Beppu Suginoi Hotel, and to date has been involved in the operation of eight inns. Through the introduction of hot springs baths with stunning, open views, buffet restaurants with open kitchens featuring fresh, local ingredients, and other features, the properties have been extremely well-received by guests.

Investments by ORIX Real Estate go beyond the facilities themselves, and include efforts to emphasize continued hiring of local staff; service level improvements also result in growing guest numbers, leading to reinvigorated regional economies as the number of tourists increases.

ORIX Group is now moving to open Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori in Hakone, one of Japan's preeminent hot springs destinations. This will be the ORIX Group's first new-construction Japanese-style inn, and represents the culmination of its accumulated expertise. By being involved in the development of the inn from the very start, ORIX hopes to achieve a facility tailored to the needs and lifestyles of its guests. This summer will see the birth of an inn that provides the comforts of a modern hotel, while offering the relaxing atmosphere and pleasing hospitality unique to a Japanese-style inn.
