Sharp Tomatoh no Mori Solar Power Station to Begin Operation

TOKYO, Japan - December 24, 2015 - ORIX Corporation ("ORIX"), a leading integrated financial services group, today announced that Tomakomai Solar Energy LLC, ORIX's joint venture with Sharp Corporation, will begin operating the Sharp Tomatoh no Mori Solar Power Station in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, on January 1, 2016.

The power station has an installed capacity of about 45.6 MW-dc¹ . Estimated yearly output will be about 51,000 MWh, enough to power approximately 14,100 ordinary households² with typical yearly electricity consumption.

ORIX and Sharp will operate the solar power station with the aim of expanding the use of renewable energy.
