Announcement Regarding Donation of Welfare Vehicles
Vehicles Donated to Five Social Welfare Corporations
in Iwate and Fukushima Prefectures

Feb 22, 2013

Tokyo, Japan-February 22, 2013-ORIX Foundation today announced the donation of five welfare vehicles to five social welfare corporations in Iwate and Fukushima prefectures as part of its ongoing efforts to help the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 2011.

The ORIX Foundation is the successor to the ORIX Social Fund established in April 2006 with the aim of providing ongoing support in fields beyond the scope of corporate activities. This includes social welfare, the nurturing of children and youth to be future leaders, and musical and cultural arts. The ORIX Foundation took over the ORIX Social Fund's activities in December 2010 after receiving approval as a public interest incorporated foundation.

Donation of welfare vehicles began in fiscal 2007. Since then, 25 of these vehicles have been donated to 25 social welfare corporations throughout Japan. On top of this, in fiscal 2012, funds from the ORIX Foundation and donations collected from ORIX Group corporate officers and employees were combined to provide a total of 35 specially equipped welfare vehicles and ordinary automobiles to social welfare corporations along the Pacific coast of Miyagi and Iwate prefectures as part of support for recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Once again, the ORIX Foundation interviewed the administrative branches of Iwate and Fukushima prefectures and social welfare councils this fiscal year to assess their needs, and decided to donate vehicles to corporations suffering from a lack of automobiles to help with the ongoing recovery in disaster-stricken areas.
