ORIX Real Estate Acquires Hyatt Regency Kyoto

TOKYO, Japan — February 22, 2013 — ORIX Real Estate Corporation (hereinafter, “ORIX Real Estate”), a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation (TSE: 8591, NYSE: IX), announced today that it has acquired Hyatt Regency Kyoto.

Hyatt Regency Kyoto opened in March 2006 and is located in historic area of Higashiyama Shichijo, just one kilometer from JR Kyoto Station and a five-minute car ride away.  The hotel is conveniently located close to tourist attractions such as the Kyoto National Museum, Sanjusangendo, Yogenin and Tofukuji temples as well as the Gion district, a traditional neighbourhood famous for geishas.  There are numerous shopping and entertainment options close by, with Shijo Street and Nishiki Market within a short distance.

Hyatt Regency Kyoto is the epitome of a luxury hotel, designed under a concept called contemporary Japanese,*1 which aims to please guests with creative works of art, traditional Japanese gardens and modern facilities.  The hotel features spacious rooms and suites designed with both the business traveller and foreign guest in mind.  Diners can enjoy various delights, including French cuisine prepared in an open kitchen, and wood-fired ovens, casual Italian cuisine and stylish Japanese food.  RIRAKU Spa and Fitness offers Oriental Acupuncture and rejuvenating treatments from both Eastern and Western traditions that balance mind, body and soul.

Management and operation of Hyatt Regency Kyoto will continue to be entrusted to Hyatt International Asia Pacific Limited, an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.  Hyatt Regency Kyoto will thus be developed further together with Hyatt, a world leader in the hospitality industry.

To celebrate this acquisition by the ORIX Group, Hyatt Regency Kyoto will run a special campaign from today through 22 March to show its appreciation to guests.  During this special promotion, guests that mention that they saw the advertised campaign when checking in will receive passes to KYOTO AQUARIUM, which is operated by ORIX Real Estate.

ORIX Real Estate owns and operates business hotels, city hotels, resort hotels, serviced apartments, hot springs inns and other properties.  The company plans to draw on its management and operational experience to run the hotel for the enjoyment and pleasure of guests.
