ORIX to Send Employee Volunteers to Areas Affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake
- The Second Group of Volunteers since May -

TOKYO, Japan – August 10, 2011 – ORIX Group announced today that it is sending employee volunteers for a period of seven days from August 21st through the 27th to Ishinomaki City in Miyagi Prefecture, an area that was affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

ORIX Group is sending employee volunteers in an effort to offer support for the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. This will be the second time for ORIX Group to send volunteers following the 135 volunteers sent for ten days in May.

Employee volunteers will be sent to the Ishinomaki City Disaster Volunteer Center, as they were for the first group of volunteers dispatched by ORIX. A large number of employees wanted to volunteer following the first volunteer dispatch, prompting ORIX to carry out an internal recruitment for the current group of volunteers.

Activities
1)  Remove mud from drainage channels
2)  Clean both the inside and outside of houses
3)  Help move people into temporary housing
(Determined according to preliminary discussions with the Ishinomaki City Disaster Volunteer Center)

Number of Volunteers
A total of 123 volunteers are scheduled to be sent for a period seven days

Additional Information
・Employees participate by taking a volunteer leave on weekday
・ORIX covers all costs related to volunteer activities (accommodation, transportation, meals and insurance expenses)

In addition to sending volunteers, ORIX Group has donated vehicles to welfare facilities in the affected areas through the ORIX Foundation based on donations raised from employees after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Also, ORIX Group has provided various types of support depending on the conditions and needs of the affected areas such as providing the services of hotels and Japanese inns operated by ORIX and donations from overseas local subsidiaries.

Going forward, ORIX Group will consider the on-going support of the affected areas as a means to contribute to society in areas not reached by its business activities.
