Since ORIX began operations in 1964, it has played a significant role as the pioneer of the leasing industry in the popularization and development of leasing. During this time, the market environment has remarkably changed and customer needs have become increasingly complex.

As we responded to these changing needs we continuously looked for new business opportunities. We pursued new businesses that centered on financial services, with a particular focus on areas where we could capitalize on our accumulated know-how.

Overseas, we spread the leasing business throughout Asia since expanding into Hong Kong in 1971. Today, ORIX operates in 27 countries and regions world-wide, including Japan, developing diversified financial services that include leasing, lending, rentals, automobiles, real estate, life insurance, banking, as well as environmental and energy businesses.

In this way, ORIX aims to become a corporate group that contributes to society by creating new value by offering leading financial services on a global scale, while improving on individual expertise of group companies and maximizing group synergies.
